Cost-Benefit Analysis of Medicaid Expansion Open Forum to be held at the Utah Department of Health

Dear Colleagues,

The Utah Department of Health is preparing to conduct a cost/benefit analysis of the potential expansion of the state’s Medicaid program under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  The purpose of the analysis is to provide a comprehensive, objective report to Utah policy makers as they consider whether or not to expand the program.

The Department would like your input on the project and will host a public forum on Thursday, December 13 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in room 125 of the Cannon Health Building (map).

This forum will be an opportunity for you to share your ideas about what should be considered in the cost/benefit analysis.  We welcome any input that can help make our analysis as complete as possible.  However, please understand this is not intended to be an opportunity to debate the pros and cons of Medicaid expansion.
For your reference, I have attached the detailed scope of work for the cost/benefit analysis project.

I look forward to your participation on December 13th.

Sincerely,
Dave Patton, PhD
Executive Director
Utah Department of Health
